Starry night reed frogs (Heterixalus alboguttatus) are small, vibrantly colored amphibians native to Madagascar. They are named for their striking appearance—typically a bright green or yellow body speckled with white or pale blue spots that resemble stars scattered across the night sky. These frogs inhabit marshes, swamps, and reed beds, where their coloration provides excellent camouflage among the foliage and water reflections. Primarily nocturnal, they are most active at night, feeding on small insects and other invertebrates.
