Everglades rat snake, Elaphe obsoleta rossalleni, is a vibrant subspecies of the eastern rat snake native to the wetland regions of southern Florida, particularly the Everglades. This non-venomous constrictor is known for its striking orange to reddish body colouration, often with faint dorsal striping or blotching, and a lighter, creamy underside. Adapted to the humid, swampy environment, it is a strong climber and swimmer, frequently found in trees, shrubs, and near water sources.
