Olive tree skinks (Dasia olivacea) are arboreal lizards found primarily in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia, and parts of Indonesia. These sleek, slender reptiles are named for their distinctive olive-green colouration, which helps them blend seamlessly into the forest canopy. Olive tree skinks are diurnal and spend most of their time in trees, where they hunt for insects, small invertebrates, and occasionally fruit. Their long limbs and prehensile tails aid in climbing and manoeuvring through branches. Unlike many ground-dwelling skinks, they lay their eggs in tree hollows or other elevated locations, offering some protection from predators.
